Filter for HP piston-type fuel pump of internal combustion engine with fuel injection

The filter is located in the inlet(26) of the HP fuel pump and has many four-sided perforations with one side of any perforation measuring between 50 and 200 mu m. The pump supplies fuel to a petrol burning combustion engine with direct injection into the cylinder. The pump has a cylinder(21) formed in the casing(20), and a fuel pressure chamber(23) formed in one part of the cylinder. A plunger(22) installed in the cylinder and by reciprocating motion directs fuel through the inlet into the pressure chamber where the fuel is pressurized before flowing out through the outlet.
