EXTREMELY LUSTROUS FLAT ACRYLIC FIBER AND ITS FIBER PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber capable of showing an animal hair-tone handle in processing a napped pile fabric such as boa or the like, by producing a fiber cross section with a specific smooth face. SOLUTION: This fiber is a fiber composed of an acrylonitrile-based polymer having a fiber cross section of a rectangular flat shape. The straight-chain part in the direction of major axis in the fiber cross section has a smooth face with >=25μm length free from a recessed part exceeding 0.3μm depth. Preferably, <=5 voids having >=0.15μm diameter exist in a quadrangular zone comprising the smooth face of the straight-chain part in the fiber cross section as a side. Preferably the acrylonitrile-based polymer contains >=50 wt.% of acrylonitrile. A fiber product can be produced by including >=2 wt.% of the fiber.
