PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shape memory cord for reinforcing a pneumatic tire capable of manifesting good corrosion resistance and high-grade performances at the time of use and a rubberized cloth and to provide the pneumatic tire containing the shape memory cord. SOLUTION: This shape memory cord 1 is obtained by forming a linear wire 3 provided in the central part, forming a core of the cord 1 and surrounding the wire 3 with a layer 4 of wires comprising mutually spirally wound plural wires. At least the one wire 3 consists of a shape memory material having the capacity of recovering a previously memorized shape. The recovering capacity is substantially active in a first heat cycle and degraded to at least a significant predetermined extent in each subsequent heat cycle.
