PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate need for connecting elements in series and downsize a reactor relatively, connecting the capacitors of unit converters by means of three-phase star connection. SOLUTION: Unit converters 4A-4C are respectively formed out of a group of a DC source 1A, a single-phase current mode inverter 2A, and a capacitor 3A; a group of a DC source 1B, a single-phase current mode inverter 2B, and a capacitor 3B; and a group of a DC source 1C, a single-phase current mode 2C, and a capacitor 3C. One end of respective filter capacitors 3A-3C absorbing the switching surges of single-phase current mode inverters 2A-2C is connected in commonly, and the other end is connected by star connection, which forms the output terminals U, V, W of single-phase converters 4A-4C. A load 5 is connected to the output terminals U, V, W of the converter. It is thus possible to obtain output voltage of √3 times even if an element with the same withstand voltage is used, thereby providing higher voltage inverter. |
