PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element in which the attack by oxygen and water on the organic eloectroluminescence element from the outside is prevented, deterioration with the lapse of time such as the growth of the dark spot and reduction of the brightness is less, and the service life is improved. SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescence element is provided with a lamination structural body comprising an electron injection electrode 6, an organic thin film layer 3 and a hole injection electrode 2 on a transparent or translucent substrate 1, and the outer surface of the lamination structural body is protected by a shield member 7. At least a part of the substrate 1 and the shield member 7 are adhered to each other with an adhesive layer 8 of a photo-curing epoxy resin.
