<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically lessen the generation of smells in a sludge treatment stage and simultaneously to drastically lower the concn. of the phosphorus in the return water flow generated from a sludge treatment system by aeriobically treating the sludge generated in a biological treatment of waste water in such a manner that the ranges expressed by the equations are attained before this sludge is dehydrated. SOLUTION: A sludge supply pipe 1 for introducing the sludge joined with the excess sludge, settled sludge, etc., discharged from activated sludge equipment, liquid feed piping 9 for discharging the sludge treated in a reaction vessel 6, an aerating agent supply pipe 7 and an off-gas release pipe 5 are connected to the reaction vessel 6 for treating the sludge. Further, an oxidation reduction potentiometer 4 is mounted at the reaction vessel. A liquid feed pump 2 for transferring the sludge and a flow meter 3 for measuring the supply rate of the sludge to the reaction vessel 6 are mounted at the pipeline of the sludge supply pipe 1. The running and operating conditions of the reaction chamber 6 for aerating the sludge are specified to the ranges shown by the equations I, II. In the equations I, II, Y is the oxidation reduction potential (mV) in the reaction vessel 6, X is the average stagnation time (hr) of the sludge in the reaction vessel 6.</p> |
