Compounds of the formula: wherein A1 to A5 form a seven-membered ring containing one optionally substituted nitrogen atom; D1 to D4 form a substituted six membered ring, optionally containing up to two nitrogen atoms; R is preferably at least one acid containing substituent; R* is is one or more groups chosen from H, Q-C1-6alkyl, Q-C1-6oxoalkyl, Q-C2-6alkenyl, Q-C3-4oxoalkenyl, Q-C3-4oxoalkynyl, Q-C2-4alkynyl, C3-6cycloalkyl, Ar or Het; Q is H, C3-6cycloalkyl, Het or Ar; R6 is preferably a basic nitrogen containing substituent; are inhibitors of platelet aggregation.
