Cellulose fibers are treated with silane bonding agent or silane bonding agent and peroxyde. Composites are made from cellulose fibers dispersed in a matrix of plasticized vinyl chloride polymer, and bonded thereto with silane bonding agent. The composites can be molded or extruded to produce useful articles.
