PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fender which has a stable compressed shape for a normal compression or a bias compression and has a large absorptive capacity of shock energy. SOLUTION: This fender comprises a pair of fender members arranged symmetrically in the right and left sides with an inclined angle crossing at a specified angle on the surface of facilities such as a quay and a buffer plate attached to the shock absorbing part of the fender member. The fender member has the lower end H1 fixed to the facilities to which boats come alongside and the upper end H2 to which the buffer plate is attached, in the whole height H. The height or the tower end H1 is made 0.3-0.5 H and the height of the upper end H2 is made 0.5-0.7 H. And further, the inclined angleθ1 of the lower end H1 and the upper end H2 against the surface of the facilities are made 80-85 degrees and 73-78 degrees respectively.
