PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information detecting device which is small in size and is capable of detecting various kinds of information efficiently in the case that it is capable of performing a high-density recording and reproduction by making the crosswalk between a land and a groove smaller and enhancing relations at the time of reproducing magneto-optical signals in the tangential direction of a track in a maneto-optical recording madium performing the recording the reproducing of magneto-optical signals on both of the land and the groove. SOLUTION: After reflected light from a magneto-optical recording medium 7 undergoes phase composition by means of a composite optical element, for detecting reflected lights from a land 7d and a groove 7e efficiently are performed, the reflected lights from the magneto-optical recording medium 7 are spatially divided into plural areas in an outer peripheral part and a central parts. Thereafter, the lights are detected by first to seventh detection parts 20 to 26 which are arranged by being made to correspond to plural divided areas. Thus, information recorded on the land 7d and the groove 7e and a tracking error signals and a focus error signal are detected. |
