PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be free from the occurrence of offset and the occurrence of thin paper jamming, to attain good fixation, to prevent the reduction of a copying speed, and also, to shorten a rise time from a standby time, even in the case the long standby time is required, and to shorten a waiting time required until the fixation is started. SOLUTION: The fixing device 10 is provided with a fixing roll 28 and a pressure roll 30 which is energized so as to come into contact with the fixing roll 2 with rotation, and by making a sheet with unfixed toner carried on its surface pass through a nip part between the fixing roll 28 and the pressure roll 30 in one way direction, the unfixed toner is fixed on to the sheet. In this case, the fixing device is provided with a heating roll 34 installed above the fixing roll 28 and adjacent to the fixing roll 28 and with a heat generating source 32 inside, and a heat transmission belt 36 which is laid to be stretched between the heating roll 34 and the fixing roll 28 in an endless state and for heating the unfixed toner on the sheet passing through the nip part in accordance with the heat transmission from the source 32, and a standby temperature control means 86 for keeping each temperature of the fixing roll 28 and the pressure roll 30 within a prescribed temperature range in the standby state. |
