<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose shape control method for a rolling line taking the importance of shape deviator to be straightened and reliability of control into consideration. SOLUTION: In the shap control method for the rolling line by which the shape in the width direction of a rolled sheet is detected with a shape detector 7 and the shape of the sheet is controlled by controlling plural shape controlling mechanism 11, 12, 13 based on the output of the shape detector 7, after setting the weighting factors whose priority by the order of the shape deviator is adjusted for every coefficients of an approximate polynomial, the output distribution of the shape detector 7 and the target shape distribution are expressed as the function of the position in the width direction. By expressing the variation of output of the shape detector to the unit manipulating variable of each shape controlling mechanism 11, 12, 13 by the function of the width direction and calculating shape performance function for evaluating the shape over the entire width from these functions, the manipulating variable of each shape controlling mechanism 11, 12, 13 is determined so as to minimize this performance function.</p> |
