Luminous means 2, 3 and 4 of different colours, small surface area but great intensity are located on the front and rear parts of the vehicle 1 and connected to the electrical circuit thereof by individual contacts which, when activated respectively by the accelerator pedal 8, speedometer 9 and brake pedal 10, set up, as appropriate, combinations of two lights which make up respective colour codes indicating the vehicle's movements. Other simple codes composed of a single light indicate other circumstances, such as the situation of a vehicle which has braked and stopped. The invention is applicable for conveying information to outside observers about the movements of the vehicle resulting from the actions of the vehicle's driver. <IMAGE>
