These are plates whose purpose is to provide adequate safety conditions for the operator handling the cutting machines used in the timber industry and to allow improved guiding of said pieces of wood, having, as the system for fastening between plates, a series of connectable magnets which also allow fixing thereof to the metal table of the cutting machine. Each one of the plates consists of a preferably rectangular surface piece with rounded edges and of small thickness, it being possible to group the plates together by superposition or laterally, incorporating thrust elements in the inner box of the plate in contact with the piece to be machined. <IMAGE>
