3-((4-Phenylpiperazino)alkyl)-5-cyanoindole derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new. Ar = phenyl substd. by 1 or 2 CN and/or F; Q = CnH2n; n = 3 or 4; provided that 3-(4-(4-(4- fluorophenyl)-1-piperazinyl)butyl)-5-cyanoindole (I') and 3-(4-(4-(2-fluorophenyl)-1-piperazinyl)butyl)-5-cyanoindole (I"), but not their acid addn. salts, are excluded.
