PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting microorganism, for example, capable of identification of species of bacteria and prediction of their growths in a shortened time and the apparatus therefor, and can previously know the state of specified microorganisms in the specimen after the passage of certain times necessary for proliferation. SOLUTION: The specimen of a microorganism is image-processed and the processed results are compared with the data that are previously stored data to extract the features intrinsic to the microorganism thereby identifying its species, and then calculate the proliferation prediction after the passage of a certain time to previously detect the state of the proliferation of the microorganism in the specimen.
