The laminated object is cooled to freeze the water content in the prepregs, rendering them non-adherent. Separating sheets (2) are removed. The object is further cooled, the water remaining frozen. Pressure is exerted on one surface of the object, forcing the other surface into contact with the internal wall of the mold. The object is then hardened by heating. Preferred Features: The object is cooled below -10 degrees C at atmospheric pressure. The prepreg (1) is wound as a hollow, layered body (3). Internal pressure forces it against the mold surfaces during molding. A tube inflated with cold gas applies internal pressure. After partial or complete hardening of the first molding, a further wound body is inserted and similarly expanded into place. The temperature is increased for hardening. Pressure is applied internally, whilst the temperature of the object is -10 degrees C to -25 degrees C, under ambient external pressure. The mold is cooled before exerting pressure. |
