The cup holder (10) comprises a horizontal base (58,76) which is able to occupy a closed position inside a casing (12) and an open position in which the cup is held in a stable vertical position. The base is in two parts (14,16) pivoted around a transverse spindle (26) enabling the carrier to be folded into the closed position inside a casing housing (34,36,38,50).
