The primary (17) and secondary (18) reaction supports of a friction clutch diaphragm (10) are provided on the inside face of a cover plate (15) fixed to the reaction plate (5). The studs (20) have cylindrical ends (21) of a reduced diameter, to engage into round holes (22) in the cover plate. The ends are riveted over (23) to anchor them, and to prevent rotation, radial slots (24) are provided in the cover plate round these holes into which the metal of the riveted end can penetrate.
