A dry plate clutch with an integral adjustment for clutch wear has an adjusting ring (5) between the thrust plate and its mounting. The adjusting ring is rotated by a manual adjuster using an adjusting tool. The system provides a large range of adjustment suitable for a utility vehicle. The relative thrust faces of the adjusting ring and the thrust plate are parallel to the plane of the thrust plate. The position of the adjusting ring is secured by securing screw which presses a clamping head onto the adjusting ring, or the adjusting ring is held in one of a number of adjusting setting by a retaining spring and ratchet.
