Optical co-ordinate measuring machine using light transmission

The machine has a measuring object support (3) made of transparent material, an illumination source (8) on one side of the support and an optical measuring device on the other side. The illumination source is fixed to illuminate the entire measuring region simultaneously. An Independent claim is given for a method of measuring an object.
