A modular display unit comprising a structure having associated with it one or more display panels characterised by a panel (A1, A2, A3) with a front of substantially square shape, and of a predetermined thickness, each corner of the panel (A1, A2, A3) being cut back to give a quarter circle clearance recess (12, 13, 14, 15) of given radius on each corner of the panel (A1, A2, A3); the recess (12, 13, 14, 15) containing a projecting tongue (12', 13', 14', 15') of T-shaped cross section lying within volume defined by the two side of the panel (A1, A2, A3) adjacent the corner if extended to define a virtual corner for the panel (A1, A2, A3); a node member (A4) of cylindrical shape with a diameter (D) at least twice the depth (d), the member (A4) having along an axis parallel to the front and rear of the node member at least two recess (16, 17) of T-shaped cross section to provide for slidable engagement with a tongue (12', 13', 14', 15') of a panel (A1, A2, A3); radius (D/2) of the node member (A4) corresponding to, or slightly less than radius (R) of the recess (12, 13, 14, 15) of the panel (A1, A2, A3); the recesses (16, 17) of a given node member (A4) serving to receive tongues (12', 13', 14', 15') of at least two panels (A1, A2, A3) so as to retain the two or more panels (A1, A2, A3) substantially in flat alignment with one another.
