An X-ray tube includes an end provided with an exit window for X-rays, and the end has a border tapered toward the direction in which X-rays travel so as to prevent the collision of the tube end with an object of inspection even if it approaches the exit window and turns on an axis crossing X-rays. Therefore, the direction of the object can be varied near the exit window. When the structure of the object is analyzed by applying X-rays and detecting X-rays transmitted through it, a photographic image of the object can be obtained with high magnification and its internal structure can be checked in detail by varying its posture.
