<p>A transmission unit (100) for a recreational vehicle comprises: steering means (9) controlled by movement of the weight of the user, driving means which includes a free-wheeling clutch (18), suspension means and braking means (20). The vehicle also includes an engine (5) (with gearbox and clutch (10)) and a user support platform (2), and is adapted for use on any type of land surface, both on- and off-road. The unit (100) is connected between the engine (5) and at least one axle (7, 19), through a drive shaft (11, 16). The vehicle may include wheels (3, 4) with balloon tyres (3a, 4a, 3b, 4b) as part of the adaptation for all terrain capability. A remote control unit may be remote from the vehicle and hand-operable.</p> |
