The rear boot lid (1) is coupled at either side to a lateral auxiliary frame (4) by a guide linkage (2), allowing the boot to open to the rear. The auxiliary frames are coupled to the vehicle body by connecting arms (7) and releasable locking elements (12). The lid is connected to the vehicle body by a second pivot (14) allowing the roof to be stowed away. A piston and cylinder actuator (9,10) is used to move the rear lid.
