The camera and film system has a cassette (2,3) inserted into the camera housing (1), which is sealed against light and vapor, with a window on the optical axis of the camera to be opened directly before use. A chamber to hold a film cartridge is at one side of the window, and a chamber to hold the loosely wound roll of film is at the other side, with a channel between them for the film to move through past the window. A film cartridge takes up the loosely wound film.
