<p>An apparatus for attaching an electronic security tag (38) to a freshly printed label (12), each label having an adhesive side and a printable side. The apparatus comprises a supply roll (36) including a backing (40) and a plurality of security tags (38) attached thereto for supplying the electronic security tags. The apparatus further comprises means (26) for printing indicia on the printable side and delivering the label (12) to a label support. The apparatus includes a stripper element (44) for separating the security tags from the backing at a label application station. The separated security tag is then attached to the label.</p> |
