The light fitting is constructed in two parts. The lamp (6) is fitted to a board (5) which also holds the circuitry (7) for powering the lamp. An end plate (4) is bonded to the board along with a bracket (25) that can be rotated from outside the plate (26). The second part of the fitting comprises the main tube (2) already sealed to a second end plate (3). Two guides (11) run through the tube from the plate and terminate in a ring (12) with keys (24) pressed into it. To assemble, the board is slid into the tube along the two guides. At the end of the board are two male connectors. These mate with two corresponding female connectors incorporated into end plate 3, thus providing the power connection to the board. Bracket 25 is then rotated from outside end plate 4 through half a turn. This latches against the keys in the end ring 12 and produces a compressing action sealing the end plate 4 against the tube. |
