Device for controlling the angle between a towing vehicle and a trailer

The device for measuring the angle between the longitudinal axes of a tractor and a trailer comprises a first course detector placed on the tractor. This measures the direction of the tractor relative to a first fixed reference direction. A second course detector on the trailer measures the direction of the trailer relative to a second fixed reference direction. A unit receives the angular values obtained from the two detectors. A computing unit determines the value of the angle between the two vehicles and a display unit shows the angle between the vehicles to the driver.
