The damper has a housing with an inner throughflow chamber (5) forming a flow channel leading from an inlet to an outlet. The inlet can be connected to the gas outlet of a gas turbine and the outlet to the gas inlet of a steam generator. Vane elements (14) in the inner chamber divide the flow channel into diffuser channels (15a-15f) that are connected together on the input and output sides and with flow cross-section increasing in the flow direction (S).
