The opening and closing mechanism includes gearing (13) with i>1 fitting outside on the frame (4) in the closing fitment area. A slide carriage (15) supporting the entrainment member (16) is guided displaceable in the gearing housing (14). The displacement movement of the slide carriage is convertible by associated converters into a rotary movement of the gearing drive pinion (19). A gearing output pinion (17) is connectable with a drive apart of the closing fitment. The converter is formed by a cogged gear rod (18) on the slide carriage meshing with the drive pinion (19) of the gearing.
