Electrode for plasma torch

The electrode (1) sits inside the main nozzle of the torch. Gas is injected into the nozzle around the electrode through small ports and is ejected as a plasma through a small orifice at the tip of the nozzle. The electrode has a machined groove (9) on the external side of its walls positioned to align with the ports. The gas is deflected by the groove and flows smoothly towards the nozzle jet.
