PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always form an excellent image by controlling an image forming position decided according to synchronizing timing between a toner image formed on an image carrier in accordance with the thickness of transfer material and the transfer material carrier to the surface of the image carrier. SOLUTION: When a copying job is started, a system control part 41 discriminates whether paper is fed from a manual feeding tray or a paper feeding tray. When judged that the paper has been fed from the manual feeding tray, the control part 41 discriminates, based on the detected result by a thickness detection sensor 36 whether or not transfer paper fed from the manual feeding tray is cardboard. In the case of judging that the transfer paper is not the cardboard, the write starting position of an ROS(raster output scanner) is adjusted by a normal shift amount and the image is adjusted so as to output the image written by the ROS. In the case of judging that the transfer paper is the cardboard, the write starting position of the ROS is adjusted by a value obtained by adding the adjusting amount at the time when the transfer paper is the cardboard to the normal shift amount. |
