<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition intended for effective cleanup of solidified coating materials, rusts, pigments and other contaminants inside coating material transfer pipings, and to provide a method for cleaning the inside of such pipings using this composition. SOLUTION: This detergent composition comprises (1) at least one kind of 1-8C carboxylic acid optionally bearing hydroxyl group(s), and (2) at least one kind of solvent among those (a) and (b) described below: (a) 1-12C monohydric alcoholic solvents and ester solvents derived therefrom, and (b) polyhydric alcohol derivatives of the formula (R1 and R3 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; R2 is H or methyl; (a) is 1-3) and ester-based solvents derived therefrom. The objective method for cleaning such pippins comprises circulatory cleaning of the pipings with the detergent composition followed by flushing with a cleaning the thinner and then performing an air blow or nitrogen gas blow.</p> |
