<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously smelting reduction method of oxide or hydroxide ore small in oxygen consumption and a gas producing quantity. SOLUTION: A reaction furnace having a function of which a carboneceous material is brought into direct contact with oxide or hydroxide ore, is used as a pre-reduction furnace 3, the metallization of the ore is made high and de-volatilized coal is used as the carbonaceous material 21 and an oxygen- containing gas is blown into an iron bath type smelting furnace 1. The carbonaceous quantity charged into the pre-reduction furnace 3 is regulated to the necessary quantity or more to which the whole quantity of ore 11 is pre-reduced and metallized. As a direct contacting reaction furnace of the carbonaceous material with the ore, a rotary kiln or a rotary hearth is used. The de- volatilized coal is used into the iron bath type smelting furnace without executing the pre-reducing treatment. The smelting reduction process inexpensive in an equipment cost can be provided.</p> |
