<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel carbohydrate derivative that has antithrombogenic activity with reduced risk of bleeding and no occurrence of heparin-induced platelet reduction because of its reduced sulfate content and is useful for therepy and prophylaxis of thrombosis. SOLUTION: This novel derivative is represented by the formula (R1 is a 1-4C alkoxy; R<2> -R<4> are each a 1-4C alkoxy, OSO3 , the total number of sulfate groups is 4-6; the skew lines mean the bonds to the upper or lower face of the six-membered ring) or its salt, typically methyl O-(2,3,4-tri-O-methyl-6-O- sulfo-α-D-glucopyranosyl)-(1→4)-O-(2,3-Di-O-methyl-β-D-glucopyranosyluronic acid)-(1→4)-O-(6-O-methyl-2,3-Di-O-sulfo-α-D-glucopyranosyl)-(1→4)-O-(2,3-Di-O- methyl-α-L-idepyranosyluronic acid)-(1→4)-3,6-di-O-methyl-2-O-sulfo-α-D- glucopyranoside hexasodium salt.</p> |
