摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new gene useful e.g. for the elucidation of development of cancer and the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer, such as pancreatic cancer, consisting of pancreas-specific gene TSA 305 including a base sequence encoding a protein having a specific amino acid sequence and a suppressive action on cancer. SOLUTION: This DNA is a new pancreas-specific gene TSA 305 including a base sequence encoding either a protein having an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula or a protein having an amino acid sequence wherein one or plural amino acids is (are) deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence expressed by the formula, and binding activity to TSA 305. This DNA is expressed specifically in the pancreas, has a high homology with sel-1 in nematodes and useful e.g. for the elucidation of development of cancer and also the diagnosis, prophylakis and treatment of cancer, such as pancreatic cancer. This gene is obtained by separating mRNAs from the pancreatic tissue, preparing a cDNA library using the mRNAs and screening the cDNA library through an immune screening technique using a specific antibody against a protein produced by this gene.
