<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muted drum and a muted snare drum capable of giving a change in tone quality as well as showing a performance expression depending on pounding strength, a pounding position or the like similar to the case of an acoustic drum, and allowing a pertinent use for practice. SOLUTION: A head member made of a mesh body like a gauze is attached to one or both open parts of a body 21 and a muted drum and a head member generate a drum sound by pounding the head member and sounding the body 21. A snappy is positioned near the muted drum and the head member, thereby being made to generate a snappy sound. In other words, a mesh type drum head 40, even when pounded to vibrate, permits the transmission of air and a drum head 10 itself hardly gives a sound. Regarding a wire mated as a material for the head 10, the material itself has mass and rigidity, and the loss of a vibration travelling internally is relatively small. Thus, a vibration as a result of pounding is quickly transmitted to the whole of the head 40 and vibrates the body 21. Consequently, the whole of the muted drum 20 has a rise of a sound similar to the case of an acoustic drum and at the same time, sounds with a sound volume smaller than the case of the acoustic drum.</p> |
