PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a pump by using working fluid. SOLUTION: A housing assembly 12 in which a fixed shaft 20 is mounted consists of a pump case 14 and a motor case 16. In the motor case 16, with a fixed shaft radially surrounded, a motor stator 48 is prevented from being exposed to working fluid and sealed by a means, such as a stator cover 44 and an O-ring, A motor rotor 36 is pivotally supported on a fixed shaft through a bearing fixed at a hub 28 with an axial distance from the stator, and sealed from working fluid by a shield element 38. The working fluid is introduced through a working fluid inlet 32 by an impeller 26, and flows through an axial passage in the fixed shaft, and fed with a pressure through a sealed surface between the stator and the rotor to a fluid discharge outlet 34.
