DETERGENT COMPOSITION INSIDE COATING MATERIAL TRANSFER PIPING AND CLEANING PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition intended for effective cleanup of solidified coating materials, rusts, pigments and other contaminants inside coating material transfer piping. and to provide a method for cleaning the inside of such pippins using this composition. SOLUTION: This detergent composition comprises (1) least one kind of 1-8C carboxylic acid optionally bearing hydroxyl group(s), and (2) 7C and/or 8C hydrocarbon-based solvent(s). The objective method for cleaning such pipings comprises circulatory cleaning of the pipings with the detergent composition followed by flushing with a cleaning thinner and the performing an air blow or nitrogen gas blow.
