<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject glass fiber cord having a large binding force between reinforcing fibers and a matrix rubber, having excellent strength, heat resistance, water resistance and bending resistance and useful for tires, etc., by forming prescribed coating layers on specified strands and subsequently twisting the plural coated strands. SOLUTION: This glass fiber cord for reinforcing a rubber is obtained by bundling highly strong glass filaments having a filament diameter expressed by 8μm < filament diameter <=10μm, forming coating layers containing a resorcinol-formaldehyde condensate and a rubber latex such as vinylpyridine- styrene-butadiene terpolymer on the obtained strands and subsequently twisting the plural coated strands or further forming the second coating layer containing a rubber composition and a vulcanizing agent on a core comprising the twisted strands. The obtained cord has a diameter of 0.8-1.1 mm.</p> |
