<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water born ink that exhibits high printing concentration with resistance to bleeding, excellent in marking resistance and is useful as an ink for ink jet recording by using a colorant and a specific ether compound. SOLUTION: The object water born ink comprises a colorant and an ether compound represented by the formula: R1 -O-(AO)n -R2 [R1 is a branched chain 3-10C alkyl, a (substituted) 5-7 cycloalkyl; R2 is a 1-30C hydrocarbon; A is a 2-6C alkylene; (n) is 1-150] preferably in an amount if 0.05-3 wt.% therein. In a preferred embodiment, this ether compound is represented by the formula: R3 -O-(BO)m R4 (R3 is 1,3-dimethylbutyl, isopropyl, isobutyl or the like R4 is a 1-30C alkyl, an alkenyl; B is an 2-4C alkylene; (m) is 1-150) or by the formula: R5 -O-(EO)1 -R6 (R5 is 1,3-dimethylbutyl, isopropyl, isobutyl or the like and R6 is an alkyl; E is ethylene; (l) is 1-150).</p> |
