PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the weatherability of a disk by forming a protective layer, then applying a lubricant thereon in the state of the SOx adsorption quantity on the protective layer surface below a specific value. SOLUTION: The lubricant is applied on the protective layer surface in the state that the SOx adsorption quantity thereon is below 1μg/m<2> , preferably below 0.5μm/m<2> . The method of controlling the SOx adsorption quantity on the protective layer surface to <=1μg/m<2> includes a method of keeping the resting time within a clean room before the application of the lubricant after the formation of the protective film within 3 hours, desirably within 1 hour, a method of decreasing the SOx content in the gas in a clean room atmosphere, a method of removing the SOx by subjecting the protective layer surface to a linear treatment, a method of previously adsorbing another substance prior to SOx adsorption, etc. The fluorine based lubricant is applied in a range of a film thickness 5 to 50Åon the protective layer decreased in the SOx on the protective layer surface in such a manner.
