PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a multi-channel stereophonic reproduced sound field whose surround sound effect is satisfactory with a headphone. SOLUTION: This headphone system is provided with signal processing circuit 3 executing a prescribed signal processing on the input audio signals of four channels, a headphone to which the output signal of the signal processing circuit is suppling and a detection means for detecting the rotation of the head of a listener. The signal processing circuit 3 is provided with digital filters 311L-314R which convolute impulse responses obtained by converting a head transmission function from a sound source to a left ear and a right ear into a time domain to the input audio signal of four channels, the additional circuits 33L and 33R of a time difference and the additional circuits 34L and 34R of a level difference. In the addition circuits 33L-34R, the time difference and the level difference of the signals passing through the circuits are controlled according to the detection output of the detection means. Thus, after the audio signals of multiple channels have been converted into audio signals whiter equivalent to the case of loud speaker reproduction, they are supplied to the headphone and are converted into sound. |
