<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous production of large amount of filament pulp by digesting a vegetable fiber raw material containing filament to soften the raw material, cutting the treated fiber raw material into a prescribed length and then continuously digesting the cut fiber raw material. SOLUTION: A vegetable fiber raw material containing long-size filament is treated in an agent obtained by adding an organic solvent arbitrarily mixable with water, e.g. normal methylpyrrolidone to alkaline pulp cooking liquor or pulp cooking liquor by hydrogen peroxide-alkali method to soften the raw material and the raw material is cut into a 1-30 cm length and introduced into a continuous digesting apparatus to treat the raw material and pulp waste liquid obtained in cooking is concentrated and baked to recover energy and alkali from the waste liquid.</p> |
