PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately correct variation in the sensitivity of a position detecting means due to a change in temperature and to improve the accuracy of image blurring correction. SOLUTION: An optical instrument with an image blurring correcting function is provided with a blurring detecting means for detecting a blurring state, a correction means for correcting image blurring due to blurring detected by the blurring detecting means, a position detection means for detecting the position of the correction means, a locking means for locking the correction means on a prescribed position, a locking position storing means for storing the output of the position detecting means when the correction means is locked by the locking means, a sensitivity calibrating means for calibrating the sensitivity of the position detecting means based on the output of the storing means, and a control means (#34 to #42) for determining whether the calibrating means is to be operated or not in accordance with a difference between the output of the storing means and the output of the position detecting means. |
