PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device by which the movement of a fixing roller in a thrust direction is regulated without causing electrical leakage and the surface temperature of the fixing roller is detected without damaging the surface of the fixing roller in a state where a resistance heating layer and a temperature detecting element are electrically insulated. SOLUTION: This device possesses the fixing roller 1 heated by having an exothermic resistor provided on an inner face as a heat source and a pressing roller brought into press-contact so as to be opposed to the fixing roller 1, and a toner image on a transfer material passing between the fixing roller 1 and the pressing roller is thermally fixed. A driving transmission system 9 transmitting rotational force to the fixing roller 1 is provided with a regulating means 15 regulating the movement of the fixing roller 1 in the thrust direction. |
