FIELD: communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: communication system incorporating group of input channels uses system controller which has processor system for shaping first message which is conveyed to selective-call devices. First message includes sub-group identifier that functions to identify Aloxa subgroup in input-channel group for use by group of selective-call devices. The latter has transmitter and processor system which identifies Aloxa subgroup in input-channel group and shapes second message which is sent to transmitter using Aloxa protocol of input- channel group in case second message belongs to first type. Transmitter sends second message. Desired Aloxa subgroup of input channels is chosen using selective-call devices of communication system provided with many input channels.
