PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a static image with high picture quality by reading out all pixels, reproduce a moving image faithfully and prevent displaying an imperfect image from being displayed on switching the moving image to static image. SOLUTION: For static image, in all pixels got in one exposure with CCD 12, odd line signal is read out at the next light exclusion time, then the next time, the even line signal is read out. And the data of odd line is output to a mixed circuit 26 via the first memory 23 and the third memory 25 which is for phase adjustment, on the other hand, the data of even line is output to it via the second memory 24 then the mixed pixel signal is formed on it. Thus the static image that is high picture quality is obtained. On the other hand, for a moving image, the mixed pixel data from CCD 12 is output and it is delayed for one frame processing time at the sixth memory 27A and the seventh memory 27B to reproduce it with fidelity. Thus an imperfect image, which occurs just before the switching, goes away.
