PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a functional filler-carrying aluminum material in which many fine pores with sizes ofμm order or above are formed on the surface, and filler particles having functionality of color-development, light-emission, humidity conditioning, perfume or the like are deposited into the fine pores. SOLUTION: An aluminum material 1 is anodically electrolyzed in an electrolytic bath contg. a halide to form many fine pores 2 on the surface of the aluminum material (an electrolytic etching stage), thereafter, the aluminum material is anodically oxidized to form anodically oxidized films 3 on the surface of the aluminum material and the surfaces of the fine pores, next, the aluminum material is immersed into a functional filler-dispersing body, and functional filler particles 4 are migrated and deposited into the fine pores by an electrophoresis method. After the formation of the fine pores, they may selectively be subjected to alkali etching, or, before the electrolytic etching stage, the anodically oxidized films or a barrier layer may be formed by preliminary anodic oxidation. Moreover, the preliminary anodic oxidation treatment and the formation of the fine pores by the electrolytic etching may simultaneously be executed.
